This old and dirty trick has given me hundred of RSS subscribers in a week. Although this is an old trick, I still think this trick still worthy enough for you to try.
Make Your RSS Button Eye Catching
To drive your visitor attention and make them to subscribe your RSS feed is by adding eye catching RSS button on your blog. This button should be big and using glaring color. Another thing to consider is about your RSS button placement. If you placed your RSS button on bottom of page or in page footer, I’m sure that few of them will see it. You should place your RSS button at proper place. The main idea of this placement is that the button should be seen without having visitor scroll down the page.
Give All RSS Button on the Net
Every visitor has different way read your feed. Most of them using service like Google Reader, My Yahoo, News Gator, Bloglines and etc to read your blog. Simple way to provide option for your subscriber is by using Feedburner as your feed service. Feedburner has plenty list of reader service on their system. All you have to do is sign up Feedburner and add their code on your RSS button.

Another method to drive your visitor to subscribe your blog is by adding RSS link at the end of your post. This link can be text link or small image button. With this link on every page of your blog will encourage your visitor to subscribe your blog. Instead adding new line on every single post, you need to edit your template page to make it easier. In Wordpress, you need to edit the single.php or page.php file. You can also edit the index.php if you want the link show on your blog homepage.
Fake Feedburner Cicklet
This dirty trick work well to force your visitor become your subscribers. The trick is simple, all you have to do is showing high number of subscriber. I use this method using feedburner chicklet, this tool allow you to show your RSS subscriber on your blog. But I don’t have any subscriber yet. Don’t worry about it, you can fake your RSS subscriber count by displaying someone else chicklet. Just pickup other website chicklet with high amount subscriber and add it on your blog. Big RSS number make people subscribe, that’s why I call it dirty trick.
