Another way to gain more traffic by using HTTP Referer as your traffic device. What is HTTP Referer? When visiting a webpage, the referer or referring page is the URL of the previous webpage from which a link was followed.
Many web sites log referers as part of their attempt to track their users. Most web log analysis software can process this information. Referer log can found on your server statistic or if you using another tracking website like Google Analytics you can see who is refering to your blog.
The idea from HTTP referer is to attact website or blog owner to visit your blog from url they found on their website log. Recently many blogs have started publishing referer information in order to link back to people who are linking to them, and hence broaden the conversation. By sending fake referer information, you can easily connect with other website owner to promote your blog, ask link back or offering something. Some people call it referer spam, but i think is brilliance idea using this technique to gain more traffic.
How it works?
1. You need RefControl firefox add-ons to manipulate fake url referer. This add-ons can be downloaded here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/953
2. Install Refcontrol firefox add-ons
3. Setting up Refcontrol
4. Enable Refcontrol option
5. Start blog walking
This method very usefull if you like blogwalking or visiting other website often. Every time you visit other blog or website, they will log your fake referer and chance to visit your blog it almost 100% work. With this method, not only you gain free traffic but you can also promote or offering your product to other website owner everytime you visit their blog or website.

That’s tricky, but looks pretty interesting. Of course, when the bloggers follows your link back to your blog/website and can’t find a link to their website it may scare them away. But if you’re visiting a few hundred blogs every day, that won’t really matter.
